The one with 2nd trimester

Simone has entered her second trimester already. At 4 months, she's close to 15lbs, and height is 73cm. duringher last check-up, her pedia told us that she's growing more in height rather than weight now, but she still gained weight, mas obvious lang yung sa height kaya mukha rin syang pumayat. hehe.

at four months, when nakadapa, she can lift her head at 90 deg. and turn from one side to the other. she can support her body with her arms. when lying down, she loves to kick and bend her legs in a semi "indian seat" position, meeting both soles of feet. kaya feeling namin malapit na umabot yung feet nya sa mouth nya. hahaha.

she always holds her two hands together, as in pag nagdedede, pag tulog, laging prim and proper na magkahawak ang kamay, parang nagpe-pray. haha. she always watches us when we eat and everytime she sees us, parang nagtatakam. according to the book What to expect the first year, it's an initial sign that she will soon would want to eat solid foods na. awwww, my baby eating solids na. hahaha. siguro not in another 2 months pa.

i still breastfeed specially at night. since she sleeps beside us, it's easy for me to breastfeed her. i just lift my shirt when it's time and we can both sleep na rin agad after feeding.

she looovveeesss to smile and make pa-cute specially in the morning. super pa-cute talaga! hindi sya yung paggising iyak, sya as in didilat lang ng eyes then smile na kung sinong kausap nya. she loves to talk even if we can't understand her. as in, dami nya ng sounds na alam.

haaayyy...the gift of God talaga, ang galing! pictures to follow promise!!!

at one month...i hope you can see how cute her dress is on her. she looks small beside us but she's not. hahaha.

at one and a half month, our baby simone has made so much progress. she's over 12 lbs already and 58 cm. she created a different cry already, one that's louder and more defined. simon said he thinks simone and i have the same voice quality and pitch. hehe. her eyes are just so expressive. she loves to sleep on anyone's chest with one hand on her face. she does'nt look like a fragile baby anymore, that im sure. we just love her dearly. we celebrated her one month with a cake and spaghetti! and her lola (simon's mom) made her a cute sunday dress that we fit into her on that day...ang cute sobra!!!

The one with a birthing story

We have waited for this moment to come and she has finally arrived. At 38 weeks, I gave birth to Francesca Simone last Feb. 21 at 9:32 p.m. at The Medical City. She weighed 7.6 lbs and measured 51cm. She’s big for a girl, that’s what the doctors told us. And with this special moment of our lives, I’d like to share with you how much we were blessed with the miracle of life.

Feb. 21 at 4:00 in the morning, I felt a certain kind of discharge. For weeks, I’ve been feeling mild contractions and since we’ve been waiting since Feb. 14 for my labor to start, we are pretty much anticipating every moment that this might be it. I’ve had several sleepless nights and uncomfortable contractions, back pains sometimes but no leg cramps. I was advised to walk as much as I can so the baby would go down and position herself. The irony of it is that I was confined last Christmas due to a slight opening of the cervix and now, I’d have to push her down more through walking. She does’nt wanna go out anymore. Hahaha. After much malling and strolling, I saw a brown-colored discharge that early morning. I read somewhere that it might be a false labor since it had to be light pink or red discharge. I observed my contractions and told Simon at 6:30 a.m. that I think I wanna go to the hospital. I called my OB and described to her everything. She advised me to take a bath, eat breakfast and go directly to the hospital. Of course, since it will take a while before I get to have a good bath again, I indulged myself to good shower that lasted for almost an hour. Hahaha. After that, we checked if everything is in the car, baby bag, daddy bag and mommy bag. Actually, at the back of our minds, we were still thinking that it might be a false labor and that doctor might still advise us to go home. I think that’s the main reason why we were so relaxed. Hehe.

At that time, I was feeling really uncomfortable. I’d feel contractions and I felt really hot. As in kakaligo ko lang, tagaktak na pawis ko. We hit the road at around 8:30 am, with neighbor Abi saying good luck to me. Haha. If you think we headed straight to the hospital, we did’nt. We passed by the studio to check on things. Hahaha. True! I even went up three floors to check the music studio and listen to simon as he talked to his mom and gave all bilins. You see, we’re not superheroes. We just wanted to do everything at the same time. Hahaha. Investing in a business and having a baby. Mind you, it’s not a piece of cake but we enjoyed it. Para rin siguro hindi kme mainip waiting for baby simone, we took the time to prepare the studio. At ang nakakatawa pa dun, we schedule the soft opening of the studio on Feb. 22 (our anniversary as boyfriend and girlfriend) so syempre, ang anak ko gusto talaga ng grand entrance kaya sinabayan nya. Gusto nya lagi special occasions eh, just like last Christmas when I was confined. At the center of our busy schedules and Christmas rush, she wanted to get attention as well. Hahha. Manang-mana sa mommy!

We arrived at the hospital at 11:30 a.m. I felt comfortable despite the mild contractions. We headed directly to the pre-labor room and when I told the doctors that Dr. Fuentes advised me to go there, they were expecting us na pala. Yikes! My OB headed to her clinic agad after our call. Hehehe. When resident doctor checked on me, I was 2-3cm still. Actually, its barely 3cm. My OB phoned me and asked me if I wanted to go home and walk muna or stay na sa hospital to go into labor already. Syempre, naisip ko na mapapraning din me if we go home and wait for the painful contractions to come so I told her that we’d stay in the hospital. I asked her when’s the expected date of delivery. The latest if Feb. 22. I was given something for enema, changed outfit and surrendered all my things to Simon. Simon, on the other hand, had to get a room for us. Before he got a room, he went to the pre-labor room first to check on me and say goodbye temporarily. We knew that we won’t be able to see each other for a while kaya we kissed each other and said our ‘I love you’s’. After that, I was groomed for the labor room na.

At 12:30 p.m., I was in the Labor room. No hubbies were allowed to go inside. That’s why I really wanted to get the Lamaze room as soon as im into active labor already. In the labor room, im not allowed to eat or drink anything. Pero my OB gave me milk lang to last for the whole day at least. Sana pala marami na ko kinain nung breakfast. Hahaha. Anyway, at around 1:30 p.m., I was advised by resident doctor that they rupture my membranes so we can speed up contractions and dilation. Just before they rupture my membranes, I felt a really big discharge. I asked the nurse to check on it and saw that my water bag already broke with some bloody show. Hehe. Parang alam na alam ng baby ko kung kelan sya sisingit ano?! After that, I started to feel real good contractions. They’re getting stronger and stronger. I kept on praying that there’d be good progress sa pag-dilate ko. After an hour and a half, I was 4cm already. I told doctor that I wanted to be transferred already to the Lamaze room. I wanted to see Simon already. The contractions are getting stronger and I wanted Simon to be there beside me. After 30 minutes, I saw him na in the Lamaze room. He was in a blue suit provided by the hospital. Maganda yung Lamaze room. There’s always a doctor beside me to check my contractions and blood pressure. There’s TV, celfones are allowed and other gadgets. Hahaha. I still remember Simon taking pictures of the room and pati ako kinukunan while on labor. Kainis. There was a time when he was just beside me holding my hand while I go into another contraction. Every contraction, I just closed my eyes and prayed, thinking that the pain is one step nearer into seeing my baby. When I turned 5cm, I asked the doctor for the painless already. Akala ko kaya ko yung pain. Hindi rin pala. Hahaha. With the anesthesia, ditto ako pinaka-praning to be honest. As in, I kept on praying for God to touch the hands of my anesthesiologist. I heard not-so-good stories about improper injection of anesthesia and either the mom suffers or the child. Syempre, God is in control of everything kaya I just kept on praying that time. My supposed anesthesiologist was Dr. Uson. Unfortunately, he was caught in traffic that time and aother anesthesiologist did all the work. She’s a blessing. I forgot to get her name sa sobrang kaba ko nun pero she was sooo good. I got all the moral support I needed from her. She explained to me everything and she’s like an instant friend. Yung tipong I felt her concern and sincerity that time. There were two nurses who assisted her. They held my legs to make sure I won’t move a bit. Simon was by my other side the whole time, holding my hand and just looking at me to make me feel comfortable. The only thing that hurt was the local anesthesia. After that, effortless na yung epidural, which is a little cold when injected. Hehe. After 15 minutes, I felt numb in my legs, wala nako masyado maramdaman and that’s anesthesia taking place. Every contraction na, wala na me nararamdaman. This was the time daw that I can take a rest before the delivery.

After an hour or so, I felt another batch of discharge on me. Alam ko marami sya. For every contraction, there’s a blood clot that would go out as well. My OB got alarmed as there was so much blood coming out of me. She informed me that if the bleeding does not stop, she’d have to open me up. I was 5cm at that time and my contractions are turning really good already, with close intervals and becoming stronger each time. Resident doctors and my OB asked me if my sonologist mentioned something about low-lying placenta. As far as I can remember, the sonologist in Medical City informed me that my placenta was normal when I had my last ultrasound last December, the time I was confined. I don’t know what happened but it turned out that I have a low-lying placenta. For every contraction, my baby would come down but placenta would block my baby’s way. Normally, baby should come out first, then the placenta. In my case, it was baby and placenta racing to go out. Syempre, I don’t want to stress my baby so much but I still requested my OB to observe me for another hour or two. I was not conditioned to have a C-section delivery kasi I was being groomed for a normal delivery. Plus, I know the pain of a C-section delivery. I don’t wanna go through that coz I want to take care of my baby myself and be able to carry her as much as I can.

After two hours, there was no bleeding. The resident doctor was happy and I turned 6cm already. But after another hour, another batch of blood clots came out. This time it was really, really disturbing for my OB and the doctors there. When my OB saw me at 9:00 pm, she said that she’d have to open me up already. I don’t look good already as a lot of blood has come out. Namumutla na daw ako and if we insist on normal delivery, my baby might be stressed also and suffer during delivery. I looked at Simon. We stared at each other as we were not prepared for an operation. I’d have to internalize the fact that I will be opened up. Naisip ko na lang ang baby ko and said to myself na I’ve waited so long for this moment to finally see her and kiss her. Kahit anong mangyari sa ken basta walang masama mangyari kay baby, okay lang sa akin. And so we agreed for the operation. We prayed and I told Simon to just keep on praying during the operation. We stared at each other for a long time and tears just fell. They were not tears of fear or sadness or disappointment. It was tears of love --- love that let us know that everything will be alright, and the love that we have for our baby.

At 9:15 p.m., I was brought to the operating room. There were like 10 people inside, I don’t know which ones were doctors and nurses. Pero everyone was so relaxed. The temperature inside was just right. I was feeling a little nervouse having to lie down the operating bed with everyone around me. I could hear the instruments being prepared. I was totally awake the whole time. It was good daw, according to my OB, that Im awake. They were all talking to me to make me feel relaxed. I have one doctor just above my head, my anesthesiologist on my right, and Simon on my left. Yes, he was also there inside the operating room. I’m glad that my doctor allowed him to go inside. There was a cover so I wont be able to see what’s happening. Eh the thing is, I was able to still see the operation going on since the light on the ceiling created a reflection of everything that was happening. Hehehe. I was not scared pero the feeling that I’d have to stretch my arms, as if being crucified, is uncomfortable.

I cant feel anything from below my chest downwards. As in nada. Then, my OB informed me that they will start na. I was looking at Simon the whole time. I told my anesthesiologist to not leave my side. She just held my hand the whole time, she was really an instant friend. I’d hear words of encouragement from her and the doctor above my head. Hehehe. I’d always ask Simon what was happening, but I can actually see the reflection in the ceiling. I saw them cutting me, from which after a few minutes, I felt pressure in my tummy, as if they were punching me and pushing my tummy to let the baby come down. And they were really pushing my tummy. Simon would tell me that it’s almost over. I can hear all the personnel talking to each other as if the baby is really nearing to her delivery. 9:31 p.m., Simon was advised by another nurse to ready his camera for pictures and video. And that’s the time I knew that the time is nearing. At 9:32 p.m., I heard my OB announced the most precious phrase, “Baby OUT!” waaahhh!!! Just after a few seconds, I heard a big baby cry. That’s my baby! And I just felt myself crying, as in tears just flowed. Sobrang I can’t describe the feeling. I felt super blessed that it was real…I already have a child. As in, God has blessed us with the opportunity to raise a person, a person that will become His child. Ibang klase yung feeling eh. Until now, everytime I’d remember her first cry, ibang klase yung joy that comes along with it. My anesthesiologist congratulated me for a job well done.

Simon had to go and see the baby being cleaned up, just to make sure that everything’s okay and to take pictures as well, while I was being stitched back. When baby was all tidy na, a doctor brought her to my left boob to let her suck a little and to create that bond. We had some picture-taking, our first family picture, mother and daughter and daddy and daughter. So cool! I was up and awake the whole time. Yun nga lang, nag picture-taking, di man lang ako nakapag-powder. Eh ang puti kaya ng anak ko, kaya kakahiya tumabi sa kanya. Hahaha. She’s sooo precious! She looks like an angel, so red and white.

After I’ve been stitched up, I was brought to the recovery room and stayed there for two hours. I remembered asking the nurse or doctor there (can’t remember actually) where my baby is and if my husband can go to the recovery room. At around 1:30 in the morning, I was already brought to our room. Room 506. I saw Simon there with my mom. There were visitors who came already while I was still at labor. Hehe. Hindi naman sila masyado excited. Pero happy kami and they joined my family to pray for my safe delivery. I was so happy to see Simon coz it was almost 3 hours that we have’nt seen each other. My mom told me not to talk yet coz of the stitches.

Having to be operated
It was not easy to be operated. For one, I was not set to deliver Simone via C–section. I’ve always prayed that for a normal delivery and I thought all along that everything will turn out the way we expected it to. When Dr. Fuentes told me that she’s had to open me up, I felt a little sad. I looked at Simon and then I thought, my baby’s safety is far more important than what I wanted so I agreed to be operated.

I can’t stand for the first day. I only slept almost the whole day to regain my strength. I was not able to see baby Simone for one day since I could’nt even walk or stand up. Simon brought pictures of her when they saw her during viewing time. She was soooo cute! Hahaha.

Second day, at around 4am, I tried to get up and asked Simon to bring me to the nursery room so I could breastfeed her already. I was brought there thru a wheelchair. When the nurse saw me, she asked if I could walk straight. Given that it was the first time that I walked after the operation, I was, admittedly, a little groggy and could not stand straight. She suggested that I see the baby after a few hours after I practice walking around. Heck, when we left the nursery, Simon saw me crying. Hahaha. Kasi naman, it’s as if I was neglected to see my own child. Super nalungkot talaga me. Simon told me not to worry coz I’ll see her in a few hours. Kainis talaga yung nurse na yun! Hahaha.

The next time I tried to see my baby, I succeeded. I was so excited, I was able to walk from the nursery door to the breastfeeding room. When she was brought to me, she was still sleeping. She’s sooo beautiful, I could’nt believe that we are her parents. She’s maputi and she blushes everytime she makes ‘inat’. She has perfect fingers which she got from her dad, perfect nose which she got from me, perfect lips and chin which she got from her dad. She also has a birthmark at her right arm which she got from our side, my mom and my brother have the same birthmark as well. From the Tan side, she got the trademark index toe that all Simon’s siblings have. Super nakakatuwa that she’s a little of everybody kaya everyone is so happy that they share something with baby Simone.

I was talking to her while she was breastfeeding on me. I kept on telling her I love her and that she was all worth the pain and more. It was a mom-daughter moment for me. Having to see her and hold her for the first time paved the way to motherhood. Yes, I’am a mom already. We are parents. We have been given a chance to raise a person to become a child of God and follow God’s will in her life. We’ve been given a privilege that not everyone is being blessed upon. We are thankful that she is healthy and that she is everything we have prayed for and much, much more.

At the hospital
I pretty much recovered on the second day. I was advised to walk around so everything inside will return to its normal place. Hehe. I was asked to count my farts, to lie down on my side, either left or right. I had three different kinds of whatever stuck on me thru needles: the blood transfusion, dextrose and pain reliever. On the second day, the one pack of blood was emptied and thank God, tinanggal na sya agad. Feeling ko kasi super may sakit ako seeing blood flow to get inside of me. My hemoglobin dropped from 120 to 80 kasi. I still had a catheter pero it was also removed the second day so I could walk to the bathroom for comfort needs. It was one of the hardest thing to do—having to sit on the toilet bowl. The stitch kasi is so low (bikini cut) that it would hurt everytime I bent. Simon would assist me and would change my maternity pads and clean myself. Sobrang it was a proof of our love. He really took care of my every need.

to be continued...this post is really long na. :D

The one with no baby yet???

Relax everyone...no baby yet. And so we thought, Feb. 14 is not the going to be Francesca Simone's birthdate. Actually, 37 weeks pa lang kasi sya now pero syempre given the history that i had, im expected to come into labor anytime. ive been feeling contractions already since last week. i cant sleep that well. i always wake up in the middle of the night na parang balisa and want to do something. weird nga e.

today, whole day na matigas tummy ko. if i still feel this until later this evening, we might go to the hospital. kasi the pain is tolerable naman. para lang syang humihilab and sumasakit singit sometimes and my back. we're at the mall actually right now, doing some walking para bumaba pa si baby. mahirap kasi mag false alarm eh. pero syempre, if you have any suspicions na, mas okay na yung sigurista than ibale-wala diba??? been eating spicy foods also at baka makatulong. hehehe.

everyone is so excited already. i think im ready. i've been ready for this coz I know God will be with me and my baby. continue to pray for us okay??? i hope my next post will be my birthing story already. hahaha.

belated happy valentine's everyone! it was a usual day for us two. we just went to the mall. we are so busy kasi with the studio and the baby that we did'nt feel like going out and spending big bucks for food. hehehe. kuripot! maybe next time when i'm thinner and up for real food and dining out! :D love you beh!

oh and congratulations to my w@wie friend pinky for giving birth to a healthy baby girl! im sooo proud of you sis for a successful lamaze. i hope id be able to do what you did. God bless you!

The one with updates!!!

It's two days before Vday. i bought simon a gift na. actually, he was with me when we bought it. hehe. it's a reversible polo from Jag. pretty reasonable price kasi sale sya. from P1,300 to P500. nice! and it's pink! hahaha.

we're also two days from the possibility of going to labor. yey! God is good. everything is fine with baby simone and me. i just had my check up last friday and baby is in position already. OB advised me to walk often since matagal labor pag first baby usually. been feeling contractions already and pananakit ng balakang. we even had two false alarms. hahaha. sobrang excited na kasi kme eh. and we're praying na sana this week na nga so we can see her already and be with her na. we checked out the rooms in medical city and found out about the Lamaze room that's cheaper than the birthing suite. we'll get that na lang instead since it offers the same benefit of privacy and being with your husband during labor and delivery. yey! anyway, that's the only gastos we have to worry since covered naman sya ng company namin.

i dont know tuloy where to be excited most kasi super dami change of events now sa life. hahaha.

Studio 22 is still in progress. We thank God for financial provision He has set and we know that everything will be alright, just as long as we offer it to Him. aside from it being a music studio, we have other services that we want to offer so it can have its own 'edge'. watch out for it as we build a new website (blog) for it and promotional activities. it's kinda hard having to do two or three things at the same time. we're pretty much juggling on the studio, waiting for our baby and adjustments now that we'll have a yaya very soon. plus we're also considering of transferring to a bigger home. Only God knows kung tuloy yun. pero everything is good. we are enjoying every minute of running errands. buti na lang pinaglalakad nako ng madalas ng OB ko and di naman ako napapagod kasi sinasamahan ko lang si simon. hihihi.

continue to pray for us. we are offering everything to God and we pray for a smooth delivery and a healthy baby simone! :D

im on my 36th week na. and mabigat na sya super. nangangawit na lagi ang likod ko and i always ask simon to rub my back sa gabi para makatulog ako. simone always kicks my rib parts kaya mejo masakit. parang naghahanap na sya ng pwesto nya pababa kaya yung feet nya tumatama sa ribs ko. ouchie! pero ok lang. hihi.

~o~

congratulations to chris and merci for your upcoming wedding on dec. 23!

~o~

last night, akala namin na time na. kasi bigla sumakit tyan ko for no reason at all and feeling ko najejebs me and nagugutom at the same time. ang weird! after i ate crackers and water, tinulog ko na lang. sabi ko, pag sumakit uli siguro time na nga...hahaha. eh hindi naman na sumakit.

The one with a faith goal

For 2007, what will be your faith goal???

In the first place, what is a faith goal anyway? as shared by my achie (SIL), faith goal is something that you want to achieve for this year, may it be spiritual blessing, emotional, financial, business or career improvement, etc. You put it in writing and offer it to God so He will bless it and He will make it come true in your life...Of course, when you ask for your faith goal, you also have to pray that it is God's will in your life.

How do you come up with your faith goal? Simply pray and ask God to bless you with whatever it is you want to be blessed. After that, write it on a sheet of paper and whenevery you spend time with the Lord, offer those faith goals to Him and ask Him for wisdom of how to accomplish those things.

I did this when I was in college. I did'nt know it was a faith goal. all i know is that i want to make a timetable for my life and wrote down 5 things that i want to accomplish in life after five years. as far as i can remember, here are those things:

1. get married at the age of 25 or 26
2. have a bank account of P 200,000.00
3. buy a car - need not be brand new, basta may aircon and radio
4. get promoted in a good company
5. invest on a business

you know what...God gave me those 5 things as i turned 26 two years ago. i got married at 26, wherein we were able to save up that kind of money and still had a something left for us to start with. i had my 'bhabes' at the age of 21 since i really wanted to learn how to drive. kasi nga naman daw, i didnt ask for a brand new car kaya ayun, 2nd hand nga lang at talagang may aircon at radio lang.nothing more nothing less. hahaha. pero bhabes got me through a lot of things. she brought me everywhere and sa kanya kme natuto ni simon mag-drive talaga kaya selling her now makes me a little sad. at least, pagagandahin naman sya nung bibili e. so okay lang. and company gave me a car already and we named her "Nisai". it's a biblical name, "praise or banner of God". i was recently given a good position in the company. im still trying to make my way to it but everything is okay. and for so long, we have sideline businesses that we do every now and then ni simon. ewan ko ba, kahit working kme pareho, mahilig talaga kme sa businesses.

see...God is limitless. we can ask everything from Him...kahit ano pa yun???!!!

Make your faith goal now and see God's move in your life!

what's my Faith Goal?? i'll share it soon! pagpe-pray ko muna. :D God bless.

The one with 3 weeks left

...i have three weeks left until we welcome baby Simone in the world
...i have three weeks to go before i run out of excuses of why i eat so much
...i have three weeks more until we say goodbye to what we call 'goodnight sleep'
...i have three weeks more until i feel the real pain of motherhood. (which by the way terrifies me already)
...we have three weeks more until we become a family :)

you see, everything is still 'halo-halo' for me. there's excitement of course dahil super lapit na namin makita ang baby namin. we're so thrilled to see her, touch her, embrace her and kiss her. my sisters are already talking about celebrating her 1st birthday. sabi ko, " sandali ha, iisipin ko muna how i will get through the delivery stage, then we can talk about her birthdays...hahaha" mas matindi pa sa ken eh kasi ako baptism pa lang nya pinaplan namin. hehehe.

and then there's fear...more like a soon-to-be parent kind of fear. yung tipong, "will i be able to do this?" "what should we do to raise her well?" "what can we do so she wont get sick?" yung mga ganun ba...siguro normal naman tong nararamdaman ko.

Pero overall, mas excited kami to finally see the first apo in the Tan-Fermin families! haaayyy... God bless you baby Simone.

~o~
At 8 months and 1 week, my baby has grown so much. she has learned new 'circus' tricks in my tummy, she knows how to kick mommy's tummy and make 'inat'. i can feel her tuhod and siko altogether. parang stretch na stretch. sabi ng mga mommies ko, naghahanap na daw kasi sya ng pwesto kaya daw ganun. she gets hiccups after i eat, katuwa. she loves to play in the evening, tulog sya sa umaga at hapon. (read: puyat ito!), she loves to show off her butt in the morning, she only tames down in the evening when her daddy sings her a lullaby. its more like a song by gary v. actually. the lyrics are so nice and everytime kakantahin ni simon yun, masarap ang tulog nya sa gabi.

~o~
scary lang last night when i thought manganganak nako dahil ang tigas ng tummy ko. as in!pero no pain eh, tapos nakatulog din naman ako so okay na pag gising ko. kinausap namin si baby and asked her na konting tulog na lang ang hintay nya. 3 weeks na lang then she can go out na. she really wants to come out na...as in! kaya nga id tell my sis in law, who'd always call her name, to stop it muna kasi na-eexcite lalo si simone. hihihi.

~o~
from my last check-up, i gained 26 lbs. already. good weight gain so far. next schedule is this thursday. i hope to have an ultrasound kung sasabihin ni dra.

~o~
our company is leaving again for HK and China this feb. 7-11. i felt a little sad at first pero okay na rin kasi may baby naman ako and i've been there so wala naman mawawala sa ken. wala lang dadalaw sa ken sa hospital na officemate when i give birth. hehe. good thing though, i get to have pasalubongs without me buying them! yahoo!!!

i miss our office and honestly, i feel a little guilty of having to take an early maternity leave. pero it surfaced, my family is more important. sabi nga ng boss ko, my condition is far more important than work. pero i still call them every other day to check on things at para hindi ako mawala sa cirkulasyon. hehehe.

The one with a prayer list

Prayer items: please pray for us...thanks!

1. safe and normal delivery for me. im still clinging on a normal delivery for simone pero whatever is God's plan for us, we will accept it.

2. that baby simone will wait three more weeks before she can be delivered. she's so excited to explore the world, i hope she'd wait more.

3. i will get through the labor pains. i will know how to push when they say push.

4. financial provision. we are so blessed that as part of my benefits, company will shoulder all expenses for my delivery. pero syempre, it doesnt end there.

5. perfect health for baby simone, free from all possible sickness and a normal and healthy baby girl

Additional prayer items:

For the family left by Pyro, I pray that God will always guide them and give them the peace and joy they need at this time of grief. To Pyro, thank you for blessing and inspiring many lives.

The one with an early maternity leave

this is something new to us...very shocking and overwhelming ang turn of events. i never realized we would celebrate christmas in a hospital. with all the preparations we've been doing, i'll end up pala in a hospital. dala na rin ng stress due to last-minute errands at work and christmas rush, nag-minor bleeding me that caused me to be confined. Dec. 24 at 2am, i just wanted to go to the CR pero nung nag-CR ako, may big clot na sumama. twas very traumatic. we cried seeing the blood and we rushed to the hospital. i was put in the labor room and was controlled. kasi 7.5 months pa lang ako and my water bag naman did'nt open so kinontrol lang nila ang bleeding ko. i did'nt feel anything kasi na masakit, no contractions. tumitigas lang ang tyan ko dahil gumagalaw daw si simone pero other than that, wala. for 10 hours, di kme nagkita ni simon. while in the labor room, i was praying and talking to God na ingatan si baby simone and that His plan will always be the perfect plan for us. nung medyo nag-subside ang bleeding, i was checked in na sa room. di pako nakakapasok sa room, sinalubong nako ni simon. and there, nag-iyakan na kme. haayy! it was an MMK (Maalala Mo kaya)moment. i remember him saying na "dont worry beh, everything will be okay. i love you." and tears just fell. up to now, pag naaalala ko yung moment na yun, nakaka-teary eyed pa rin.

when i was transferred on my bed na, andun pala ang parents ko sa room and abi and romy. hehe. nakita tuloy nila kme na umiiyak. i was literally bedrest for 5 days. as in kahit comfort needs, sa bedpan lang. it was a test of true love for us. i've always felt that Simon is God's best for me and this experience was one big proof of that. He really took care of me. He'd put on my bedpan pag mag pee and poop me. arrrgh! the poop thing is the most embarassing pero i only did it once. Simon has a gift of making things light...yung kahit nahihirapan nako, he can turn the situation into a positive tone na matutuwa ka na lang basta. yung poop experience nga namin was a funny one...basta i wont go into details na. hehe.

All things work together for good…Everything under heaven has a good and Godly purpose.

For all the sudden things that transpired during the last two weeks, it was more of a learning experience for us as a couple. Challenging, yet a blessing for us. I would always tell myself, in situations as these, that everything has two sides. There’s always a positive and a not so positive side. We make it a point to choose the positive one. This is what connects us to our God. That positive attitude in life that promotes and builds our faith in Him.

Pero syempre, as human as iam, I was scared…really scared for that matter. It was traumatic having to see such sight. I know I can deliver the baby at 7 months pero I still wanted to deliver her full-term. I also felt guilty for abusing my body and absorbing all the stress as though im not pregnant. Believe me, ang daming nagsasabi sa ken na parang hindi daw ako buntis, I was active as I was when I was not yet pregnant, I only relax when I feel something unsusual (which is very seldom because I ignore those unusual feelings), I still drive although not that often naman, I still went out-of-town a week before it happened. (I still think that triggered everything since our car broke down and I was stressed that day during fieldwork). Lesson learned: DO NOT abuse the comfort of pregnancy that I once had.

We celebrated Christmas in the hospital…for the very first time. All our families, on both sides, came during noche Buena time and they brought food. They all had an early Christmas dinner so they can be with us in time for Christmas. Simon and I were so touched that we are so blessed with families who have given us so much love and support. Hindi pa man pinapanganak si baby Simone, talagang ramdam nya na ang love that our families have for her. We went home last Dec. 28 and we’re staying muna with my in-laws since our place is a 2-storey apartment and I also need someone to be with me all the time, just in case I go to labor already. We were so preparing for Christmas, and yet we still did’nt have a “matino” celebration. Last year kasi we just got married, so super bangag pa kme to prepare. Now naman, I even printed out new recipes to cook pero hindi pa rin pala. Hehehe. I guess next year sure na. Sabi kasi ni Lord, masyado daw ang planning kaya ayan, pinag-rest nya muna ako.

Lessons learned…oh there are so many things…and I keep on discovering the reasons why God had to let this happen.

One, He wanted me to take things slow and take each day one day at a time. Restless that i'am, God taught me to relax and appreciate things that i have. kumbaga nga, take time to lie on the grass and smell the flowers. it wont hurt to get things at a certain pace.

Two, God has once again manifested in our marriage and reminded us that Simon and I are really meant for each other. Simon has been my constant bestfriend, comforter, clown, disciplinarian, and husband. He has taken good care of me ever since and kahit pasaway talaga ako, i never heard one negative word from him. well, napagsabihan nya ko pero he understood me pa rin.

Three, God has given me enough time to bond with my child while im on bedrest. the luxury of time that i have right now is very overwhelming. i mean, i can move around the house naman kasi di naman nako totally bedrest kaya i can still do things that i like and get to enjoy that quality time with my unborn child. we have one month left before she arrives and everyday, im starting to feel that she's responding to what i say. ngayon ko lang na-experience to and im blessed to have her. she's giving me so much joy already kahit di ko pa sya pinapanganak. in fact, when i feel alone sa room ko i'll just talk to her and she will respond by kicking me(which hurts sometimes, hehe) or by showing her butt (which is big, nagmana sa ken). just the other night, i woke up in the middle of the night and felt her hands and knees moving around, as if trying to stretch my tummy. grabe, i know those were the parts kaya happy na happy me. i got to see her once again sa emergency ultrasound that i had in the hospital. she's completely well and twas so precious having to see her eyes as if she was looking straight at me...and blinking. after a while, she was mouthing as if wanting to eat something. nakakatuwa, the sonologist laught also kasi ang cute daw. and true enough, kamukha sya ni Simon. hahaha. as in she got her daddy's eyes, shape of face, cheeks and chin. ang sa akin lang ata ay nose and lips. hehe. pero we're still hoping we can have that 4d ultrasound next week so we can have a souvenir of her in my womb.

Four, God has really blessed us with the best families and friends ever. there was not a day in the hospital na wala kaming visitors and/or family na andun. the morning nung na-rush ako, everyone was in the room waiting for me. as in lahat! even our pastor and his wife were there also. we felt God's love through them and we sincerely thank them.

Now, we're staying at our in-laws. My MIL and my mom are the ones taking care of me pag may pasok si simon sa office. super spoiled nga ako eh. kahti ano gusto ko, bigay agad. hehehe.

When i had our check-up last Jan. 4, doctor said naman that i can deliver baby 1st week of feb, pinaka-late is feb. 14. naka-close naman ang funnel ni baby so safe naman daw. i just have to really take care para hindi mag-contract. so far, wala ako nararamdaman na contraction. tumitigas lang talaga si baby when she moves which is normal naman daw.

We offer everything to God. I know He will take care of us and He will help us get through this. We've offered baby Simone to Him already and I know He has the perfect plan for this child. He will use this child to bless and inspire people around her, and most importantly, to glorify and bless Him.

The one with our first anniversary

Congratulations to us!!! One year na kmeng Mr. and Mrs. Simon Tan! yahoo!!! what more could we ask for?! we have a baby simone who's on the way, we have so many blessings to be thankful for, we have great families who've supported us always...Thank you Lord for everything!

anyway, we did'nt plan much since we are so busy with events and christmas season and we want to celebrate it after christmas season. anyway, for our first anniversary,, we kinda splurged on our anniversary gifts. hehe, our rationale...this may be the last "luho" we have for ourselves before simone comes. hahaha. syempre, pag andyan na si simone, lahat na ng luho will be for her. yihee!

so, i surprised simon with a new iPOD video 30GB. yahoo! super saya ng lolo nyo dahil di nya expected talaga. i wrote on the card that it's not an iPOD nano that he wanted kaya nag-sorry me. hindi nga naman nano, kasi video! naks!!! :D i wrapped it in two boxes para hindi halata na ipod video. hehe, typical me.

simon on the other hand, gave me a portable widescreen DVD player. ang saya! he knows how much i wanted to watch videos kaya ngayon kahit saan pwede nako manood. thanks behbi ha! :D as usual, pictures to follow. hehe.

we had our dinner at gloria maris in shang and had dessert in sugarhouse where i gave him my gift. :D

Happy Anniversary to us! and to all december couples there, happy anniv to you too! God bless!

The one with the day before

Tomorrow is our first year anniversary! grabe, super bilis ng panahon. as in! lately, super pagod kme lagi ni simon coz of all the events we had to attend to, all the errands, and mga last-minute shoppings. and to top it all, we're pregnant pa! so double yung ingat namin and madali kme mapagod. (ako coz of simone, si simon dahil sa mga bitbit nya!) hahaha.

can you believe it, we still have'nt prepared anything for our anniversary. as in wala pa! we plan to celebrate it na lang after christmas since wala naman ako pasok and i think he wont work din ata nun. we can always go somewhere and relax. yun nga lang, goodbye na to out of town planning dahil bawal na ko mag-travel. not naman bawal, pero mabuti na ynug maingat. pasaway kasi ako eh. i went to batangas lang yesterday and nasiraan ang kotse ko in the middle of south expressway! haayyy!! pero God is good and His protection was upon us. detailed story next post na lang at ayoko naman maiba ang mood ng post ko here.

so, what are we going to do tomorrow??? since we'll just have a corporate year-end sa Ultra, i can report to work around 10am na siguro. he suggested that we have breakfast at somethin fishy muna. then, tambay sa eastwood dahil dun naman ang favorite namin eh. tapos, report to office and then, after that have a good dinner in a nice hotel or restaurant. basta, anything para lang makapag-relax and have the time to ourselves lang talaga.

just this morning, we woke up late na. he told me na half day na lang kme para makabawi ng sleep kahit papano. you know what, when he hugged me and we were sleeping, super naisip ko na super lapit na ang pagdating ni baby simone that we really have to cherish the time na kme lang dalawa together. it's a mixed emotion actually. syempre, happy ako and super excited to be finally seeing our baby! pero at the same time something tells me na i might not be able to spend as much time as i do for simon, yung tipong our lives will totally revolve around baby simone. hahaha. i dont know what im saying...kakaloka! must be the preggo hormones. basta, ang important is that God has blessed us with a baby girl we've prayed for. kahit ngayon pa lang na di pa sya lumalabas, she's giving us sooo much joy already. pati families namin are soo excited and looking forward to finally kiss and hug her.

im on my 7th month already. simone's kicks are getting stronger. minsan may mga exhibition pang nalalaman. hehehe. im starting to feel her feet kicking me. ang cute pero minsan mejo masakit. hahaha. at least i know she's active and healthy.

at may ugali tong batang to...pag may kausap, gusto lagi sumali kasi lagi sumisipa. tapos, marunong mag-respond sa ring ng fone. yung ring na "krrriiiinnnggg..." hahaha. she has intervals na rin kung kelan sya active, kelan sya playing inside me, etc. she loves to kick me pag patulog nako and nakagilid. ayaw nya kasi ng nakagilid ako.gusto yung normal na position which is getting harder for me. pero ok lang, gusto nya e. :D i stopped wearing my ER and wedding ring muna. mejo sumisikip na eh. actually, kasya pa sya kaya lang baka maipit mga ugat ko. sayang pa naman coz simon just gave me his pre-anniv and pre-christmas gift...an eternity ring! pic to follow pero super nice. :D love you beh! may kasunod pa daw ang gift nyang yun kaya excited nako! yahoo!

eh ako, what do i have for him for our anniv and christmas??? secret!!! baka mabasa nya dito eh, mahirap na....hihihi...

we'll have an ultrasound later for final confirmation of gender and check physical conformation etc. excited as usual dahil we'll see her again. and syempre, video ulit ito! hihihi.
