When we ask simone the sounds that animals make, she just does'nt imitate the sounds, she has an extra line before she makes the sound. :)
mommy/daddy: "What does the dog say?"
simone: "the dog say aw, aw, aw" (hehe, wrong grammar)
m/d: "how about the cat?"
simone: "the cat says nyaw"
m/d: how about the bird
simone: the bird says twit twi twi twi
m/d: how about the sheep?
simone: sheep says meeeeeehhh
m/d: how about the cow?
simone: cow says Moooooohhhh (with fingers naka ipit sa nose para mas close sa cow sound)
hahaha...funny! she has other animal sounds pa like frog and duck :)
aside from her verbal skills, she can now color within the lines. well, not exactly (haha) but she already knows that she has to color inside the lines. and she uses different colors for different objects in the picture. :) she also can count up to 40 but she has to see the numbers in front of her, otherwise, she can only recite up to 20. she knows the animals from the pictures and can really count already, not just recite. :) like show her 5 balls and she will go "one, two, three, four, five balls"
she also speaks more english now. but sometimes tagalog pa din. her sentences can be something like, "mommy, watch tayo tv room" or "daddy, come on, play room" cuteness!
she also knows her please and thank you. as in when you give something to her, she says "ten tyu" and when she wants something, we don't give it unless she says please :)
life skills are very essential learnings in a child and i hope she will always apply these life "lessons" in her life. :)

The one with our friend's accident
Our friend, David (simon's college friend), met an accident while crossing the 6-lane highway in front of our village. The thing about that highway was that there were no street lights. as in nada! he was hit by a motorcycle which caused his knee to be cast with metal for life. we felt so sorry for him and at the same time angry at the government here in taytay. for goodness' sake, it's a main road and the whole stretch of the road, i think only 20% had lights (SM mall included but they have their own electricity source) I don't know how we'll be able to file a complaint against the government but he is set to report the incident to the police and it's a good thing he remembered the plate number of the motorbike (oh i did'nt mention that it was a hit and run incident?)
But we still thank God for sparing his life. we love you david.

The one with cherishing the alone time
It's 1am, my babies are soundly asleep and i've been in front of the computer for several hours already and enjoying the alone time that i have! yahoo! ahehe. don't get me wrong, if you're a mom, im sure you know what i'm talking about. if you are'nt, well, mothers or anyone for that matter need some alone time too to just do the things he or she loves doing...and since i'm done checking emails from clients, i can now blog! more yey!
pero ano ba masasabi ko??? hmmm...not much...except that lately, i've been having some realizations and/or some food for the soul. here are some in random order and maybe, just maybe, it will be something to think about for you too:
~ The other day while driving, i stopped at a pedestrian and let an old woman passed. she was gray-haired, a little slow when she walked since she looked like she was at her late 70s. and as she was crossing, i noticed a teenage girl on the other side of the road waiting for her and that's when i realized that the lola was fetching her granddaughter (who i think is about 15y/o) from one side of the road just so she could cross the pedestrian! you see, the irony of it was i've always thought that when you're a senior already, you're the one who's supposed to be accompanied when crossing or something like that. and the situation made me realized that no matter how old we get, we will always look out for our children and our children's children. and even if they will be old enough to take care of themselves, we will always gather strength to volunteer in protecting and taking care of them. And it was a good realization. :)
~ I used to have pastries or crackers in the car so that i'd always have something to give when i see beggars on the streets. when i run out of this, i resort to giving money instead. One day, I gave a teenage boy some money and when he looked at how much i gave, he just shrugged and walked away. My initial reaction was, "what was that all about?!" and then i started blabbering at my husband about how "ingrato" people can be. And then he just bluntly said something that was like a stone thrown at my head. He said, "beh, when you give, you don't expect them to thank you. yun ang totoong giving". and right then and there, i shut up. as in, i was so ashamed of myself. you know, sometimes, we tend to forget to look at ourselves and we only focus on what we think are our best qualities without realizing that hey, if that person did'nt thank you, it's not your loss. God looks at your heart when you give. and i immediately said sorry for being the one who's "ingrato"
I hope these two stories of mine helped you reflect in any way :)

The one with domestic only
Since the A(H1N1) virus is now here in our country, I became less excited to have my much dreamt family out of the country trip. I managed to renew our passports and get one for Simone but we thought that a domestic trip (like a Bora trip) will be more feasible. We don't plan to cross country moving but it's really one of my dreams, to be able to have a family trip with my husband and simone. :) I just hope that this will come in reality soon :)

The one with wishlist
After my husband's birthday last April, it's my turn now and i'll be turning 30 this august 20. yey! (is it?!...hmmm...) my husband gives so much importance on birthdays to the point that he makes a countdown. hehe. he has started asking me what i wanted for my birthday. i kept on shooing away the idea of being spoiled on my birthday coz it would me another expense but i realized that if people want to spoil me, who am i to refuse?! hahaha. so this is what's in my list...
Wishlist number 1:
I know that during my search for simon's gift, this has been a close second placer as one of the choices but the laptop won. Now, it's actually in my top list. hahaha. I guess we will always drool for a DSLR. we love pictures (obviously) and we always see to it that we bring one during family events, or even when going out. I just want to have more decent pictures and something that i can also use for taking pictures of my decors and parties. hehe. rationalizing!!! Simon admitted that he's been saving up for this already so this is considered "done" and i'm just touched! love you beh! so if you want to give me a crash course on photography, i'd definitely take it..basta libre ha. hahaha.

It's been a while since I had my last good read. It's either I need to turn off the lights already since simone is sleeping, thus, i can't read or i simply don't have the time (which is such a lame excuse by the way) And when i read about this book while I was browsing on my latest issue of Entrepreneur magazine, I was really curious and encouraged to buy it. i don't want the hardbound, the softbound will do. :) I really hope I'd get hold of this book. :)

we can all dream right? and it says wish...so here's my ultimate wish!!! bwahaha. :)

The one with less of a baby
Some recent pictures of Simone:look, she has a backpack with her na. waah! parang school girl talaga.
hahaha, pose kung pose!
her signature pose. hehe. here she was modeling the bratz sticker she put on her dress, sa may chest. haha.
o diba, parang dalaga mag pose?!
i will forever be amazed on how she poses in front of the camera. as in super sanay talaga. winner! i know i'd make a fortune out of it soon, papa-VTR ko muna. hahaha, joke! but seriously, may potential diba?
Simone now is so grown-up. i know i say this always pero everyday, she has become less and less of a baby to me and more of a little girl na. hay. just recently, she asked my mom when she spilled the water, "oh no, what happened?" as in my mom was shocked on what she heard. para daw matanda na yung kumakausap sa kanya. hahaha. I'm amazed on Simone's super duper love for music. she can sing the whole day like what she did yesterday. she sang the ABC song the whole day, while playing, watching tv, drinking milk. hahaha. with the lines, "now you know your ABC..." kaaliw! but of course, some lines are still not that clear pero pwede na! hahaha.
When numbers are in front of her, she can count up to 30 but if asked to recite, up to 20 lang. ahehe. super cute when she says, se-Ven-teeen... (parang slow motion na ewan). she also likes puzzles. nagulat na lang kme when one day, she got a letter Q puzzle and the card puzzle with the word and image of a queen on it. tapos she was trying to connect the two. hay, big girl na talaga!
I'm practicing her association of words now. she can associate "Nestle" and say it if she sees the word as if reading it. (but she knows that nestle is chocolate to her. hehe) other words are "ball", and "dog". i'm taking it one step at a time, anyway, she'll be able to read din naman in no time so what's the rush. katuwa lang that she's so interested with reading and books and televisions too. hehehe.
She's still super mahinhin. as in super feminine. yesterday, we had balikbayans (my cousins) and super proud lang ako when my tita ninang told me that simone is super well-mannered daw and behaved. wala kasi syang girl na apo so sanay sa mga bruskong apo na boys. hahaha. kasi when my cousin gave her a glass of juice, simone instantly said, "ten-tyu tita" (thank you tita) o diba, im one proud mama. hahaha.
Kaya even if you're less of a baby now and becoming more and more of a little girl, (let's still add the word little huh, i can't stand pa the word "girl" lang e. hahaha) in my heart, you will always be my little baby.

The one with missing mode
I miss blogging! I really do. There are times that I'd have something really "worthy" to blog about but I won't be able to find the time for it. hay, sad. But I'm being positive that i'll be able to blog more this time. we're expecting our househelp to be back today from her one-month long vacation so that means i can have more time. yey! it was one heck of a challenging month for me: juggling events, mommyhood, keeping the house look sane and family time. grabe, it's as if every energy has been exhausted from me. but i don't complain. i can't complain. hehe, everything's good :)
For the past weeks too, i noticed that our wheatgrass products are really picking up. probably because the H1N1 virus has been rapidly influencing everyone to be health-conscious and one of the many ways they see is to cleanse the body with wheatgrass or Colonix. It will all boil down to cleanliness and proper hygiene i guess. And fervent prayer too that we will all be protected of the virus.
More posts and pictures soon! can't wait to blog again.
